The seasonal position at the Apple River Fort has posted. Note that the closing date is Monday, April 2 – so if you are interested you must move quickly!
The job description is: Under direction of the Galena Complex State Historic Site, candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the interpretation of the Apple River Fort such as: greeting the public; assisting with the planning and implementation of historic programming; assisting with the care of site inventory; assisting in housekeeping duties; assisting with special events and programs.
This is a full-time seasonal position working from May 1 to October 31, Wednesday through Sunday. Note that weekends are required. The pay is $9 per hour. The Apple River Fort is in Elizabeth, Illinois.
There are no experience or educational requirements.
Note that normally applying for a State job is a lengthy process, but because this is a seasonal position there are only two forms required, one is a standard application form and the other is a form to give the State police permission to perform a background check on you. So while you don’t have much time to apply, the process seems to be a simple one so don’t let the short time span intimidate you.
