Join Our Ranks - Volunteer!

Have a free afternoon? Enjoy history? Have a unique skill to show off?

The Fort welcomes new volunteers!  Here you can use your special talents in fun and exciting ways. Whether you are passionate about history or just want to dedicate your time to help keeping this special site alive, there is a place for you here at the Apple River Fort in our volunteer ranks.

Volunteers bring life to the Fort! Some faithfully volunteer many of their weekends at the Apple River Fort, sharing its unique story through our living history program. Others dedicate their time staffing the interpretive center, sewing historic clothing, or working to improve the Fort site.

Volunteers receive ongoing training through monthly volunteer meetings.  No experience or expertise is required - just a willingness to learn!
