COVID-19 Guidelines
for visitors

In order to make the Apple River Fort State Historic Site as safe, healthy, and fun place for visitors,

site staff ask that visitors help by following these guidelines.

     Regardless of your vaccination status:

  • Masks are strongly recommended while inside the Interpretive Center and outside on site grounds.
  • Social distancing (a minimum of 6 feet) is strongly recommended while inside the Interpretive Center and outside on site grounds.
  • If you are showing symptoms, have recently come into contact with anyone showing symptoms, or otherwise have any reason to believe you may be infected with COVID-19, we ask that you help prevent spreading the virus by staying home and postponing your visit to the Fort.

This is in accordance with guidelines set by the IDPH and CDC. For more information, please click here.
